I spent yesterday morning at the London Stock Exchange courtesy of Goldman Sachs and the 10k Small Businesses Programme
I was invited to attend a networking event with a difference yesterday and it was actually awesome. Goldman Sachs ran the event for the opening of the London Stock Exchange – an early start but well worth it.
The event was themed on financing for growth and the attendees were all alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10K small business programme. During the morning we had an open discussion and presentations with financial VC’s, crowdfunds, and financial advisers. Not only was this inspirational – dreaming of the day you might launch your company on the exchange – but it was awesome to network with the speakers too.
We also had the chance to catch up with those who have been through the programme in previous years, and this was more inspirational than anything. These people are making differences in their businesses and coming back to share – it’s really a great community being created here.
Having graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10k Small Business programme earlier this year as part of the first national cohort, I know that it is a truly amazing experience, and I am a massive advocate of the programme. If you own a small business and get the chance to attend, it is totally invaluable and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
